My Double Page Spread works because...

I have used consistent colours such as grey for the model and the writing. I have used Black also for the writing and used a white background. I wanted to maintain a simple but effective double page spread
I increased the size of the word “EXCLUSIVE” and made it UPPERCASE to alert the reader that this is something epic.
The model is on one side, and the text is on the other side to represent simplicity
Using the research models on the previous post, I used Kirk Franklin’s hat, Guvna B’s silly pose and the black and white image on the double page spread on slide 20

My Double Page Spread

Both these two double page spreads' work because...

A usage of two colours throughout the whole page to maintain simplicity, perfection and professionalism
The actor’s pose relates to the headline and the paragraphs
A natural structured hierarchy has been used on the first double page spread – it starts with the rough hair leading down to the title.
The actor is on one side, while most of the text is on the other side to represent simplicity

Examples of Good Double Page Spreads...

I’m using one of the interviews that I’ve used on the contents page to use on the double page spread.
For the double page spread, I’m using the same font and colours as the contents page to maintain simplicity and professionalism
I’m also using a single shot of the actor as in one of the double page spread’s that I researched, they use a single shot of the actor or just in a background, so I’m suggesting if I use this concept, it would maintain professionalism

I grasped the readers attention by underlining the main articles in red also using the words “exclusive” to show the reader it is a one in a lifetime opportunity to be up to date on the latest news
I used inspirations for the stories by a free Gospel magazine called Encore. They had interviewed a substantial amount of artists and preachers which influenced me to do my own.
I mixed the pages about, putting the main lines in between the normal lines so that the reader doesn’t only read the headlines but reads everything else.
I used an image pointing to the next page referring to one of the headlines that something amazing is there.  This will immediately influence the reader to turn to the next page.

How does the contents page linked back to the front cover?

I used two colours to maintain simplicity and professionalism
The main points I wrote were in red to catch the readers attention

I made a new layer on top of the photo, then I used a multi-colour gradient then I changed the blending mode to screen in Adobe Photoshop

(this is the original because the camera settings changed this picture to black & white)

I used a rainbow effect tool, allowing me to change the colour of the image
